For the first time in the history of SRL English Secondary, parents and relatives were invited to participate in a fund-raising cultural event held on the 19th of April, 2008, in the School Hall, not just as part of an audience, but as performers. Auditions were held in March for prospective performers, from which the best were selected. All proceeds from the event were donated to charity through Macau Caritas.

Seeing parents and their children collaborating in magic acts, dances and singing numbers was inspiring! Parents, students and members of the audience were impressed and entertained by the various performances. Parents, most especially, said that they enjoyed going through practices at home and the time spent with their children was truly meaningful. After the event, everyone commended its success and expressed a desire to see similar events organized in the future.
