In what has come to be a school tradition, a coronation ceremony in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary was held in the hall on Thursday, the 31st of May, 2007.
May is the Month of Mary and throughout the weeks of May, the Religious Affairs Committee of the Students' Association had been leading the students in praying the rosary. These activities culminated in the Coronation on the 31st.
Form 2 and Form 4 students gathered in the hall while the rest participated in their classrooms watching the class televisions sets. During the Coronation, the Rosettes Glee Club (Secondary Choir) sang two songs, The Song of Mary and the Hail Mary in Latin, while a specially prepared Powerpoint presentation was shown. Two decades were recited and two teachers, Ms Kan and Ms Ester, were invited to share their experiences.
The atmosphere was very solemn and serene. It was wonderful to hear the voices of the students praying in unison, and thanking their heavenly mother, who has guided them along their way through her example.
