After more than a month of intensive preparations, the Inter-Level Recitation Competitions in English, Cantonese and Putonghua were concluded in February 2006, immediately after the Chinese New Year holidays.

Each class sent two contestants for the English competitions and one each for the Cantonese and Putonghua competitions. The competition among contestants this year proved to be tougher as the overall standard and quality of delivery and interpretation had improved immensely. The bulk of the pressure fell on the judges who were tasked to grade contestants based on overall interpretation, choice of recitation piece, as well as clarity and enunciation.

After all the prizes had been given out and congratulations said, students exuded a general feeling of eager anticipation towards next year's competitions.
