On the 20th of November, the F2 students and teachers proceeded to a beach near Coloane Village for a clean-up activity. The activity raised students’ awareness of how coastal debris has polluted the natural environment. It also inspired students to reflect on their own behaviours. As shared by some of the students, many of the trash found were plastics. They agreed that plastics should be entirely banned in society as plastic pollution has a deadly effect on marine lives. They promised to put their best effort into recycling to reduce waste. Despite being tired, they all felt very content to have taken part in creating a trash-free environment and in helping to protect a marine habitat.
