Under the guidance of the DSEDJ, the Macau Public Speaking Organization, the Rotary Club of Macau, and the ICBC Youth Association jointly organized the "We Care, We Share" Macau Secondary Students Metal Health Public Speaking Competition, which was held on the 1st of December. Students from the Public Speaking Training Program were led to participate in this event by Mr. Vergil Lam.
The event aimed to convey positive mental health knowledge, raise the importance of mental health among young people, and cultivate their interest in public speaking. The event attracted the participation of over 80 students from 26 schools.
Four of our students, Cindy Wang (F3H), Kamilla Kam (F3H), Melody Cheong (F5AC1) and Adonia Ma (F5S), participated in the training for the youth ambassadors in mental health promotion and the speech competition. Through professional courses, visits, and training, our students performed excellently. Adonia Ma (F5S) won the championship in the senior secondary category of the speech competition, as well as the Best Interpretation Award and the Best Student Award. She was also invited to participate in the Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference (APRRC), which will be held in Singapore. In addition, Melody Cheong (F5AC1) and Kamilla Kam (F3H) were both nominated as one of the top five best students in the senior secondary and junior secondary categories, respectively. Cindy Wang (F3H) and the other students also earned recognition as the youth ambassadors for mental health promotion.
The students benefited greatly from this event and gained rich experiences. Once again, congratulations to the award-winning students, and we hope that all students can continue to strive for excellence and face future challenges with good mental health.
