SRL Celebrates School Feast Day With a Bang

This year, 2022-2023, our School Feast Day was more special than usual. Not only is this year the 90th anniversary of the school but it is also the first year that our school falls under the sponsorship of the Diocese of Macau, headed by the Bishop of Macau, His Excellency, Bishop Stephen Lee.

The theme of this year’s Feast Day was “Go and rebuild my house”. The day began with an opening prayer led by the Catholic Students Association (CATSO), which was then followed by the formal induction and oath-taking ceremony of the executives, level leaders and members of the CATSO, the Students’ Association and the Order and Discipline Committee.

At 9:30, the Feast Day Mass was celebrated by His Excellency, Bishop Stephen Lee, simultaneously televised so that all students in the classrooms could participate.

After the solemn Mass, a short break and the flag-raising ceremony, the students and teachers were treated to a little over an hour of level-specific activities. This second part included a puppet show depicting St Francis’ encounter with God at the church of San Damiano; a sharing of experiences from a past student, Ms Virginia Tam; a celebration video; a Q&A game; as well as some songs from the F2-F3 Guitar Club members, the P2 Smart Birdies, and a teachers’ choir!

Though the day’s activities certainly kept the school’s photography club extremely busy, everyone went home on a high note, with the aim of “rebuilding our house” through the coming year! Well done, everyone!
