The 2016-2017 English Speech Contest for the Junior Levels was held on the 21st of June while that of the Senior Levels was held on the 22nd. In the latter competition, eight contestants, from Form 4 to Form 5, competed. The Judges' Panel this year included our guest judge, Ms Zarah Davis, and our teachers, Ms Alice Tong and Ms Margarida, with Ms Karla as the question master.
The contestants elaborated on topics about Internet usage through their well-prepared speeches. Issues, such as cyber-bullying, plagiarism, trustworthiness of online information, etc., were discussed. The champion, Shandra Musa, talked about creating things with technology, and how young people are able to come up with new ideas and thus, should not be inferior to people who have more experience. Ruby Ng and Kimmy Mou also impressed the judges and were awarded the 1st and 2nd runner-up respectively.
