Under the theme “Saluting the National Flag,” a five-day programme was held in Beijing from 18 to 22 September 2026. Our school was represented by Kami Ao Ieong (F6AC2) and Nicole Choi (F6AC3). The programme brought together members of the flag-raising teams from Hong Kong and Macao, providing valuable opportunities for exchange and cultural understanding.

The programme aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the national flag, including its origins, symbolism, legal status and contemporary significance. Through the themed study visits, a meeting with the PLA Honour Guard, and visits to key landmarks and historic sites in the capital, students gained first-hand insights into the nation’s history and development.

The programme provided our representatives with valuable learning experiences. One student praised the immersive and interactive programme for deepening her knowledge and supporting her personal growth. Another said watching the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square was the most memorable and fulfilling moment of the trip.

The programme enriched our students’ understanding of Chinese history, culture, and national development, while strengthening their sense of national identity and responsibility. We are proud that they had the opportunity to participate in this meaningful and educational experience.
