2024-2025 General Studies STEM Projects

Join us in celebrating an incredible year of STEM learning at our Primary School! Our students have engaged in hands-on projects that spark creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Here’s a glimpse of the amazing STEM adventures our students have embarked upon this year:

Primary 1:

Easter Egg Challenge: Students protected quail eggs using various materials, learning about design and engineering.

Bionic Animals: They applied their knowledge of animal features to create their own bionic animals, exploring function and form.

Primary 2:

Sun and Shadows: Students explored the positions of the sun and conducted hands-on experiments to understand shadows.

DIY Compass: They created their own compass and used them to navigate and find dragon boat pieces, applying real-life directional skills.

Primary 3:

DIY Cooler Bag: Students designed cooler bags to test their ability to keep ice at low temperatures for extended periods.

Windmill Project: They investigated how the number and size of blades affect the electricity generated by their windmills.

Primary 4:

Earthquake-Resistant Structures: Students learned about the importance of building structures that can withstand earthquakes.

Water Purification: They made water filters, understanding the significance of clean water and the purification process.

Primary 5:

Musical Instruments: Students crafted their own instruments and performed songs, gaining insights into sound production.

Rockets and Parachutes Challenge: Each student built a rocket and parachute, launching and comparing results in groups.

Primary 6:

Amphibious Car: Students designed and built an amphibious car using knowledge from their computer classes and microbit technology.

Bridge Building Collaboration: In partnership with the English department, they constructed bridges and tested them with mBot cars.

Through these enriching activities, our students engaged deeply with their classmates, applied their ideas, and tested their models. They continuously innovated and improved their designs, fostering a culture of learning and communication.

STEM education not only prepares our students for the future but also makes learning fun and impactful. Let’s continue to inspire curiosity and creativity in our young minds!
